Burnout
Running on empty and unable to switch off, even when you finally have time to.
One to one Usui Reiki in a private treatment room at Freshwater Wellness Centre. An hour where nothing is asked of you.
Reiki is a Japanese practice of energy healing. You lie fully clothed on a treatment table and I place my hands lightly on or just above your body, working through a sequence of positions.
What most people notice is warmth, heaviness, and the particular kind of tiredness that means your nervous system has finally stood down. A lot of people fall asleep. That is not a failure to participate. That is the point.
I trained in Usui Reiki Levels 1 and 2 with Daphne Latzelsberger in New Zealand.
There is no wrong reason. These are the ones I hear most:
Running on empty and unable to switch off, even when you finally have time to.
A move, a job, a relationship. Wanting an hour of quiet to hear yourself think.
Loss, heartbreak, or the anniversary of something. Somewhere to put it down for a while.
Lying awake at 3am. Reiki will not cure insomnia, but it can loosen its grip.
Recovery, long illness, or a body that has been asked to do a lot lately.
Genuinely fine, just want an hour of rest. Also completely valid.
Reiki is a complementary practice. It sits alongside medical care, it does not replace it, and I will always say so if I think you need a doctor rather than a treatment table.
$100
The full session. Time to talk first, a long treatment, and a few minutes to come back to yourself afterwards.
$60
A shorter treatment. Good if you have had Reiki before and know what you are after, or you are fitting it around work.
Sessions run by appointment, usually weekday evenings and Sunday mornings. If those times do not work, message me and we will find one.
You arrive and we sit down for five minutes. You tell me as much or as little as you want about why you came. Nothing you say leaves the room.
Then you lie down on the treatment table, fully clothed, with a blanket if you want one. I work through a sequence of hand positions, mostly resting lightly on or just above you. You do not have to do anything at all.
At the end I will leave you for a minute or two before we talk. Some people have a lot to say. Some people say nothing and go home. Both are fine.

No. You do not need to believe anything or do anything. Plenty of people arrive sceptical and simply enjoy an hour of deep rest, which is a perfectly good outcome on its own.
No. You stay fully clothed the whole time. Wear something comfortable you can lie down in.
Lightly, and only where you are comfortable. Some hand positions hover just above the body instead. I will ask before we start and you can change your mind at any point.
Many people come once, for a particular moment or decision. Others come monthly. I will never sell you a package of ten. Come once and see how you feel.
It happens, more often than you would think, and it is welcome. There are tissues and there is no rush.
Yes, as a gift. Email me and I will sort it out.
